Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Promote the Clinical Skills Centre and ensure the facility is used by multiple health workforce educators and practitioners regionally, nationally and internationally, maximising external revenue
  • Deliver clinical skills and simulation learning solutions to improve patient safety, systems evaluation, teamwork and decision making
  • Manage the resuscitation programme for the wider organisation and external participants; evaluate resuscitation equipment
  • Manage contracts with suppliers, vocational colleges, and other training providers
  • Provide leadership and management of direct reports
  • Allocate time to support ongoing professional development and maintain APC requirements
  • Maintain own clinical practice within the 1.0 FTE allocation

About the role

As the Manager - Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre, you will report to the Chief Medical Officer and be accountable for leading, facilitating and developing comprehensive clinical skills learning programmes.

Key responsibilities include the following:
  • Promote the use of the Clinical Skills Centre, ensuring that the facility develops and maintains a reputation for excellence and is well utilised by a multi-disciplinary range of health workforce educators and practitioners regionally, nationally and internationally, maximising opportunities for external revenue
  • Deliver clinical skills and simulation learning solutions for the organisation to improve patient safety, systems evaluation, teamwork and decision making
  • Manage the resuscitation programme for the wider organisation and external participants and assist with evaluating appropriate resuscitation equipment
  • Manage contracts with suppliers, vocational colleges, and other training providers
  • Leadership and management of direct reports
  • Allocate time to support ongoing professional development and maintain APC requirements
  • Time can be allocated within the 1.0 FTE to maintain own clinical practice
About the Team/Service

The Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre is a purpose-built facility for undergraduate and postgraduate training, from basic level to sophisticated advanced specialist training. The centre is available for all groups including nursing, medical, surgical, Allied Health, general practice, paramedical and other community health groups.
