Job summary

Transdev Australia & New Zealand in Wellington seeks an experienced General Manager to lead our newly merged multimodal business (bus and rail) for a fixed-term of six months. You will shape asset strategies, manage major contracts, and drive procurement, client relationships and fleet performance.

Reporting to the senior leadership and Managing Director, you will oversee engineering, maintenance and safety compliance while delivering strategic initiatives and strong operating results across

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in assets and commercial contracts.
• Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline (desirable).
• Experience leading fleet, asset management or engineering functions.
• Excellent negotiating and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong financial and commercial management capability.
• Proven experience delivering major projects and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial and contractual relationship with our client, ensuring strong performance against contractual obligations
• Develop and implement commercial strategies that manage risk and support long-term business objectives
• Provide oversight of rail fleet engineering with our engineering partner to ensure safety, compliance, reliability and asset performance
• Lead the bus fleet management function
• Build collaborative relationships with our client, suppliers, and industry partners
