Job summary

North Canterbury Basketball Association in Rangiora (South Island) is seeking applications from a highly skilled person to take the reins of our successful basketball association. The role is salaried at 90k per annum, full-time 40 hours per week, with a sponsored vehicle and occasional weekend work.

The successful candidate should bring senior management experience, strong financial and governance skills, and a passion for community sport.

Qualifications

• Excellent time management and administration skills.
• Experience with NFP organisations and management.
• Excellent communication and networking skills.
• Knowledge of local sporting landscape, ideally basketball.
• Sound working knowledge of management accounting practices.
• Xero familiarity preferred.
• Experience with community funding processes and applications.
• Experience acquiring and managing sponsorships/relationships.
• Sports coaching experience, basketball preferred but not essential.
• Some website management experience.
• Proficient with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Gmail).
• Familiar with Facebook and Instagram.

North Canterbury Basketball are seeking applications from a highly skilled person to take the reins of our successful Basketball Association based in Rangiora.

North canterbury Basketball have made amazing progress in recent years and are looking for someone who has passion and experience at this senior management level to continue and improve future progress and developments.

The role is Salaried (90k pa) Full-Time 40 hours per week including a sponsored vehicle with occasional weekend work required.

The successful candidate should possess the following:

• Excellent time management and administration skills.
• Experience with NFP organisations and management.
• Excellent communication skills, with a flair for networking and building relationships.
• An intimate knowledge of the local sporting landscape , ideally with Basketball.
• Sound working knowledge of management accounting practices.
• Working knowledge of Xero is preferred.
• Experience with community funding processes and applications.
• Experience acquiring and managing sponsorship arrangements and relationships.
• Sports Coaching experience, ideally with Basketball preferred but not essential.
• Some experience in website management.
• Good working knowledge of Google Workspace suit of products, particularly Google Docs, Sheets, Forms and G Mail.
• Working knowledge of various social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram.
