Fulton Hogan in New Zealand is looking for an experienced Gardener to shape beautiful, safe spaces for our communities. In this hands‑on role, you’ll support grounds maintenance across public gardens, street plantings and parks, working outdoors daily with a strong safety mindset.
You’ll maintain beds and landscaped areas, operate gardening machinery, and collaborate with the team on planned and reactive work.

We’re looking for an experienced Gardener to help shape beautiful, safe spaces for our communities. In this hands‑on role, you’ll support the delivery of grounds maintenance and landscaping across public gardens, street plantings and parks.
You’ll be out on the tools each day, helping keep standards high and making sure work is done safely and well. This is a role for someone who knows their craft, takes pride in their work, and wants to do Good Work that the community sees every day.
Carry out daily work to meet contract requirements and client expectations.
Maintain garden beds, street plantings, parks and landscaped areas to a high standard.
Operate and care for gardening equipment and machinery in line with company policies and safety requirements.
Support the wider team to deliver quality outcomes across planned and reactive maintenance work.
Contribute ideas for improving planting, maintenance practices and seasonal displays.
Level 3 Horticultural qualification or equivalent hands‑on experience in horticulture, landscaping or grounds maintenance.
Proven plant knowledge and practical experience working in public gardens or similar outdoor environments.
Full Class 1 driver licence and confidence driving a manual vehicle.
Strong planning, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, with the ability to take ownership of your work.
A Safety‑first mindset and comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions, including around live traffic where required.
