Job summary

Hynds is seeking a reliable Yard & Forklift Operator to join the Hornby team in Christchurch. You will ensure products are received, stored, and dispatched safely while delivering great service to customers at the counter.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will work with the wider team to keep orders on track, maintain a safe yard, and participate in ongoing training and development opportunities within a nationwide business.

Qualifications

• Full NZ Class 1 Driver Licence.
• Forklift F Endorsement, or willingness to obtain one.
• Experience in a yard, warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, transport, or similar environment.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.
• Practical, hands-on approach with a positive attitude.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Confidence using computer systems.
• Physical fitness and ability to regularly lift up to 20kg.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to load, unload, move, and store products.
• Pick and prepare customer orders.
• Load and unload trucks and customer vehicles.
• Receive and process inwards goods.
• Complete stocktakes and inventory transactions.
• Maintain a safe and organised yard.
• Assist customers with orders.
• Work with the wider team to ensure timely delivery.
