Job summary

Hawkins Group is seeking a seasoned Foreman/Lead Carpenter to join our Central team on a flagship Hamilton project. The successful candidate will lead site teams, deliver projects to the highest standard, and drive safety, quality, and programme adherence.

We value strong planning, construction methodologies knowledge, and a proven ability to manage complex stakeholders across multi-million dollar builds. Applicants with a relevant trade or tertiary qualification are preferred.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years’ Foreman experience on construction projects.
  • Projects ranging from $5M to $50M with a track record of leading site teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the site team on a Hamilton project and deliver to the highest standard.
  • Manage construction methodologies and ensure compliance with legislation and standards.
  • Plan, program, and coordinate activities to meet project milestones.
  • Uphold health and safety policies and enforce company procedures.
  • Foster strong leadership and positive stakeholder relationships.

The Role

Join us on our iconic project in Hamilton, where you’ll play a key role in our Central team and have the opportunity to grow and develop your career. We’re looking for someone with a strong commercial construction background, ideally in a Lead Carpenter or Foreman capacity, who has the drive and determination to deliver projects to the highest standard.

What You’ll Bring
  • 2–4 years’ Foreman experience, ideally with a well-known main contractor
  • Proven experience on projects ranging from $5M to $50M, with a successful track record of leading site teams and delivering excellence
  • Solid understanding of relevant legislation and industry compliance standards
  • Strong planning skills and ability to work to programme
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies
  • A passion for Health & Safety, with the ability to enforce company policies and procedures
  • Strong leadership and people skills, capable of managing complex stakeholder relationships positively
  • A relevant trade or tertiary qualification (preferred, but not essential)
