Job summary

Glenorchy Air is seeking a Flight Logistics and Ground Operations Coordinator for the Queenstown base to oversee customer experience and smooth ground operations during the summer peak. You will work closely with pilots, operations staff and guests to ensure seamless scenic flights.

The role is full-time and fixed-term for 6 months, offering varied days, on-site work in Queenstown, and comprehensive training. Prior aviation exposure is preferred; full NZ license is required for ground duties.

Glenorchy Air is looking for a Flight & Ground Operations Coordinator to join our Queenstown-based aviation team. This is a fast-paced, hands‑on role where no two days are the same and where customer experience and teamwork are everything.

You’ll be the friendly, organized face of our operation - supporting guests, assisting flight operations, and helping ensure every scenic flight runs smoothly from the ground up.

About the role

As part of our flight coordinator & operations team, you’ll work closely with all areas of the business including pilots, operations staff, and customers to deliver safe, seamless, and memorable scenic flight experiences.

Key responsibilities:

• Greeting and assisting customers before and after flights

• Managing check‑ins, bookings, and customer enquiries

• Coordinating passengers, flight schedules and aircraft loadings

• Supporting pilots and operations staff on the ground

• Handling phone and email communications

• Completing daily admin and operational tasks

• Maintaining a calm, organized front‑of‑house environment

• Delivering an above‑and‑beyond customer experience

• Checking booking details are accurate to ensure flight experiences go off without a hitch.

About you:

To hit the ground running in this role you’ll be:

• Scenic flight or aviation experience preferred or the ability to pick up processes fast

• Minimum of 2 years driving experience with Full NZ license, eligible for Passenger Endorsement as driving is a part of this role.

• Proactive, conscientious in your work and, a great listener

• Great attention to detail

• Available for immediate start

Experience in tourism, scenic flights, and or adventure activities with a logistics coordinator is highly regarded, but full training will be provided.

• NZ resident or citizen, or legal working rights (sponsorship not available)
