Job summary

Access Community Health in Auckland is seeking Kaiāwhina/Support Workers to provide safe, person‑centred care in clients’ homes, respecting culture, values, routines and boundaries. You’ll work flexibly to fit family and study commitments while delivering high‑quality daily living support.

We offer practical and online training during induction, ongoing refreshers, and clear development pathways. A positive, community‑focused role with real impact awaits.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification or have equivalent, relevant experience
• Spinal injury experience
• Stoma Management experience
• Experienced in the use of a full, standing and two-person hoist
• Experience administering prescribed medication
• Love working with people and helping them thrive
• Be willing to learn, reflect, and adapt your approach to what matters for each person
• Have experience in or exposure to caregiving, disability support, aged care, community work, or otherpeople‑facingroles
• Committed to culturally safe, respectful support for people from all backgrounds
• Intuitive and responsive to people’s needs
• Own a smartphone
• Have the right to work in New Zealand
• Full/restricted driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, respectful, and person‑centred support in people’s homes.
• Be mindful of what matters to clients’ culture, values, beliefs, routines, and boundaries.
• Support clients with all elements of daily living.
• Engage with clients in a respectful and empowering manner.
