Job summary

Access Community Health is hiring a Kaiāwhina/Support Worker to provide safe, person-centered in-home support across our community. You’ll assist with daily living activities, respect clients’ culture, routines and boundaries, and help them live independently at home.

Full comprehensive training is provided. We offer flexible hours, weekend shifts with extra pay, and paid travel time and mileage, supporting your work-life balance while developing valuable health sector experience.

Qualifications

Must have full or restricted driver’s license.
Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification or equivalent experience.
Spinal injury experience is an asset.
Stoma management experience helpful.
Experience using a hoist (standing/two-person) may be required.
Experience administering prescribed medication.
Be willing to learn, reflect and adapt to what matters for each person.

Responsibilities

Provide safe, respectful, person-centered support in clients’ homes.
Assist with daily living activities while respecting culture, routines and boundaries.
Respond to individual care needs and support plans.
Maintain clear, compassionate communication with clients and caregivers.
