Job summary

Access Community Health is seeking skilled and compassionate Support Workers to assist clients in their homes across our community in Wellington. We offer flexible hours around study or family commitments and practical training during onboarding, with ongoing refreshers and clear development pathways.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification or have equivalent, relevant experience.
• Spinal injury experience.
• Stoma Management experience.
• Experienced in the use of a full, standing and two-person hoist.
• Experience administering prescribed medication.
• Love working with people and helping them thrive.
• Be willing to learn, reflect, and adapt your approach to what matters for each person.
• Have experience in or exposure to caregiving, disability support, aged care, community work, or other people‑facing roles.
• Committed to culturally safe, respectful support for people from all backgrounds.
• Intuitive and responsive to people’s needs.
• Own a smartphone.
• Have the right to work in New Zealand.
• Full/restricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, respectful, and person-centred support in people’s homes, mindful of individuals' culture, values, beliefs, routines and boundaries.
• Assist with daily living needs, including care tasks and medication administration as required.
