Job summary

Access Community Health supports individuals in their own homes across Aotearoa, delivering compassionate, person-centred care with a focus on dignity and respect. Roles involve assisting with daily living, managing medications, and adapting to diverse cultural needs while prioritising safety and wellbeing.

We offer practical and online training, structured induction, and a clear development pathway for Kaiāwhina| Support Workers, with flexibility to fit study, family or other commitments.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification or have equivalent, relevant experience
• Spinal injury experience
• Stoma Management experience
• Experienced in the use of a full, standing and two-person hoist
• Experience administering prescribed medication
• Love working with people and helping them thrive
• Be willing to learn, reflect, and adapt your approach to what matters for each person
• Have experience in or exposure to caregiving, disability support, aged care, community work, or otherpeople‑facingroles
• Committed to culturally safe, respectful support for people from all backgrounds
• Intuitive and responsive to people’s needs
• Own a smartphone
• Have the right to work in New Zealand
• Full/restricted driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, respectful, and person-centred support in people’s homes
• Support daily living activities including Palliative care, bowel care, dementia, mental health, and medication
• Be adaptable to individual client routines, cultures, values and boundaries
• Contribute to a supportive team environment and ongoing training pathways
