Job summary

Halter is hiring a Junior Fleet Operations Engineer to join our Auckland-based Fleet Operations team. You will monitor fleet health, triage issues, and help design internal tooling and dashboards to scale operations globally.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve workflows, automate processes, and ensure timely incident resolution while supporting farmers with reliable hardware and software systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, software engineering, mechatronics, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfort with systems, data, dashboards, and APIs.
• Builder mindset to improve internal tools and workflows.
• Hands-on troubleshooting with attention to detail.
• Clear communication to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to prioritise urgent support and long-term improvements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor fleet performance and provide operational support.
• Triage issues, investigate incidents, and coordinate resolution.
• Design and build internal tooling, dashboards, and automations.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, deployment and support teams.
• Improve data quality and visibility across core systems.
• Contribute to documented processes and knowledge bases.
• Occasionally visit customer farms for hardware issues.
