Job summary

Tradestaff is seeking an experienced Fitter/Welder to join a busy Hastings workshop manufacturing tilt trays, truck decks and other truck body equipment. Immediate start with hands-on fabrication, fitting and mechanical work in a modern workshop.

Ideal candidates have proven Fitter/Welder experience, with hydraulic and electrical knowledge, and a solid ability to read engineering drawings. Pay rate is $35-$40 per hour with a focus on safety and quality production.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Fitter/Welder.
• Experience with transport decks or tilt trays beneficial.
• Competent using engineering hand and power tools.
• Good understanding of hydraulic systems.
• Basic electrical and wiring knowledge.
• Basic welding skills.

Responsibilities

• Fitting and assembling tilt trays, truck decks and other truck body equipment.
• Measuring, cutting, drilling, welding and fitting steel and aluminium components.
• Installing hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Using engineering hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Carrying out repairs and modifications as required.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
