Tradestaff Hawke’s Bay in Hastings is seeking an experienced Welder Fabricator to join a busy workshop team. This hands-on role offers a great mix of fabrication, CNC operation, welding, and occasional off-site installation work.

You will take pride in quality workmanship, read engineering drawings, and contribute to a safe, efficient workshop. Immediate start and weekly pay with a competitive rate based on experience.

Qualifications

• Strong fabrication and general engineering experience.
• Good welding knowledge and practical workshop skills.
• CNC machinery operating experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings accurately.
• Manufacturing or production workshop background.
• Strong communication and problem-solving ability.
• Solid understanding of workshop health & safety.

Responsibilities

• Workshop fabrication and manufacturing work.
• Operate CNC Router and Press Brake machinery.
• Welding, sheet metal, and light engineering tasks.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Complete routine maintenance and safety checks.
• Material handling and quality component production.
• Maintain high workshop quality standards.
• Assist with occasional site installations.
• Travel outside the region when required.
• Overnight stays with transport provided.

Welder Fabricator

Tradestaff Hawke’s Bay is looking for experienced Welder Fabricators to join a busy and growing workshop team in Hastings.

This is a hands-on role offering a great mix of fabrication, CNC operation, welding, and occasional off-site installation work.

Location: Hastings

Start date: Immediate start

Pay rate: $32–$38/hr depending on experience, paid weekly

What You’ll Be Doing

• Workshop fabrication and manufacturing work
• Operating CNC Router and Press Brake machinery
• Welding, sheet metal, and light engineering tasks
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Completing routine maintenance and safety checks
• Material handling and quality component production
• Maintaining high workshop quality standards
• Assisting with occasional site installations
• Travelling outside the region when required
• Overnight stays at times with transport provided
