Job summary

Tradestaff New Zealand is actively seeking skilled Fitter/Turner candidates for diverse roles across the Bay of Plenty region. The successful applicant may work in Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, Wellington and Waikato regions as required, with detailed arrangements discussed after hire.

You will interpret drawings, fit metal parts, and service machinery on-site, using a range of tools and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience as a Fitter/Turner or relevant trade qualification (preferred but not essential).
• Your own tools and reliable transport.
• At least 2 solid work references.
• Strong commitment to Health & Safety.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Interpreting technical drawings and specs.
• Assembling and fitting fabricated metal parts and machinery.
• Measuring components for accuracy and fit.
• Setting up machining tools, guides, and controls.
• Operating equipment to form metal to tolerances.
• Working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out maintenance and repairs.
• Installing and commissioning machinery on-site where required.
