Job summary

Tradestaff New Zealand is seeking skilled Fitter/Turner professionals for diverse projects across the Auckland region. You’ll work on-site and potentially travel to Waikato, Hawke's Bay, Wellington and Bay of Plenty as needed.

The role requires 3+ years of Fitter/Turner experience or a relevant trade qualification, your own tools, and reliable transport. A strong health & safety focus and the ability to pass a drug test are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience as a Fitter/Turner
• Own tools and reliable transport
• At least 2 solid work references
• Strong commitment to Health & Safety
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test

Responsibilities

• Interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Assemble and fit fabricated metal parts and machinery
• Measure and check components for accuracy and fit
• Set up machining tools, guides and controls
• Operate equipment to cut, shape and form metal to tolerances
• Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Diagnose faults and carry out maintenance and repairs
• Install and commission machinery on-site where required

Fitter/Turner – Exciting Opportunities with Tradestaff

Are you a skilled Fitter/Turner ready for your next move? Looking for variety, stability, and a fresh challenge in a great region?

Tradestaff has multiple opportunities for experienced Fitters/Turners across Auckland region. While Auckland will be your predominate region of work you may be required to work in the Waikato, Hawkes Bay, Wellington and Bay of Plenty Regions – this will be discussed with the successful applicant

What You’ll Be Doing

• Interpreting technical drawings and specifications
• Assembling and fitting fabricated metal parts and machinery
• Measuring and checking components for accuracy and fit
• Setting up machining tools, guides, and controls
• Operating equipment to cut, shape, and form metal to fine tolerances
• Working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out maintenance and repairs
• Installing and commissioning machinery on-site where required

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years’ experience as a Fitter/Turner OR a relevant trade qualification (preferred but not essential)
• Your own tools and reliable transport
• At least 2 solid work references
• A strong commitment to Health & Safety
• The ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
