Trimble Inc. in Christchurch, NZ is seeking a Firmware Engineering Manager to lead a high-impact team responsible for embedded solutions, sensors, and automation.

You will own the firmware lifecycle from bring-up to production, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product managers to translate complex requirements into actionable plans. This role blends hands-on development with people leadership, emphasizing modern CI/CD and strong technical craftsmanship to deliver world-class grade control

Qualifications

Proven track record leading engineering teams and mentoring staff.
BSc or equivalent in software/electronics/mechatronics or similar.
Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Python for embedded systems.
Experience with embedded Linux and hardware bring-up.

Responsibilities

Lead the firmware engineering team and set technical direction.
Oversee the full firmware lifecycle from bring-up to production.
Collaborate with product managers and architects to translate requirements.
Mentor engineers and maintain high development standards, CI/CD practices.
Champion continuous improvement and modern tooling.
