Job summary

Zero Fire is seeking a hands‑on technician to install, inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems across varied sites in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty region. You will ensure safe, efficient delivery of projects and support team members with your technical expertise.

You will bring a strong fire protection background, excellent communication, a proactive customer‑focused approach, and a full NZ driver’s licence. This role offers ongoing development and a supportive team culture.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality fire alarm installations and services to our clients. You’ll be hands‑on across a variety of sites and systems, ensuring every job is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. What you’ll do:

• Install, inspect, test, and maintain a range of fire alarm systems
• Ensure all materials and equipment are ready and available for site work
• Deliver quality workmanship, personally and through mentoring others
• Maintain compliance with all Health & Safety requirements
• Complete documentation accurately and on time
• Support and guide other technicians with leadership and technical expertise

Qualifications

You’re a skilled technician with a strong fire protection background and a knack for problem‑solving. You take pride in your work, enjoy working as part of a team, and are ready to step up, with potential to grow into a Project Manager role.
