Job summary

Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) is establishing a new Finance Manager role, reporting to the Director, Finance, Facilities & Risk, to lead our finance team and provide financial governance and day-to-day oversight as we grow.

This is a genuine leadership opportunity for an experienced finance professional ready to step up, or an established finance manager looking for a role where they can shape how a function runs.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership track record in finance.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with financial reporting for governance bodies.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the general ledger, treasury and cash management, and capital expenditure/asset processes.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports for NMIT Council and leadership teams.
• Provide hands-on leadership to a small finance team and serve as first escalation point on operational matters.
• Lead the FMIS implementation and future developments of the FMIS.
