The Opportunity

As the Finance Manager you’ll be joining an established organisation in a permanent role that sits at the centre of its financial operations. Reporting to a senior executive, this is a hands-on leadership opportunity with broad responsibility across management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cashflow, compliance and process improvement.

This role offers the chance to partner closely with senior stakeholders, providing clear financial insight that supports operational and commercial decision-making across the business. You’ll lead day-to-day finance activity while overseeing a small established team, helping ensure strong controls, accurate reporting and continuous improvement.

The Company

This organisation is well established, service-led and known for its collaborative and relationship-focused culture. It operates in a professional environment where service quality, sound judgement and strong internal support functions are all highly valued.

With a stable platform and a well-regarded team, the business offers the opportunity to step into a visible and trusted finance leadership role with genuine breadth and influence.

The Role
  • Key member of the wider business services function, partnering closely with senior leadership across the organisation
  • Preparation of periodic management reporting including profit and loss, balance sheet, cashflow, KPI dashboards and commentary, together with ownership of month-end processes and reconciliations
  • Management of budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis and scenario modelling to support annual planning and wider commercial decision-making
  • Oversight of tax compliance, financial controls, system integrity, receivables and payables, and support for payroll review and related compliance processes
  • Leadership of specialist compliance-related administration through direct reports, ensuring strong oversight, reporting integrity and ongoing process improvement
  • Management of banking relationships, user access and authority controls, plus preparation of year-end workpapers and liaison with external advisors on annual reporting matters
  • People leadership of a small finance and administration team
Your Profile

  • At least five years’ finance experience, ideally within a professional services or service-based environment
  • Strong management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis capability, including confidence with modelling and commercial insight
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong systems capability across Microsoft Office and modern finance platforms, with dashboard reporting exposure advantageousExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate financial information for non-financial stakeholders and build credible internal relationships
  • High level of accuracy, confidentiality and discretion, paired with a hands-on, proactive and commercially minded approach
  • Hold full, unrestricted working rights for New Zealand and be based in or actively relocating to Christchurch
