Job summary

McPherson’s is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead financial control and commercial finance for our New Zealand operation, with end-to-end ownership of financial reporting and governance. This hands-on role partners with the NZ leadership team to deliver clear insight for commercial decision-making.

Reporting to the Group Senior Manager Finance (Australia), you will manage month-end close, tax compliance, audits, budgeting and forecasting, and build strong relationships across

• Proven experience across financial control and commercial finance.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards, audit requirements and tax compliance.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling.
• Advanced analytical capability to turn data into commercial insights.
• Continuous improvement mindset in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to build relationships across finance, sales and operations.

Responsibilities

• Own NZ general ledger, income statement and balance sheet integrity.
• Complete month-end processes to audit-ready standards.
• Oversee NZ accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Lead NZ statutory audits and support group audits.
• Ensure NZ tax compliance (BAS and income tax).
• Partner with NZ team on budgeting, forecasting and analysis.
• Provide financial modelling and insights for new opportunities.
