Job summary

Stand Forestry, New Zealand’s largest forestry management company, is seeking an experienced Finance Manager or Financial Controller to lead financial operations during a period of integration and change. The role is based in Rotorua with flexible hybrid or remote arrangements.

You'll provide hands-on finance support, manage budgeting and year-end activities, assist with audits, and help keep BAU processes running as teams navigate merger-related systems changes.

Qualifications

• Has experience as a Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager, or in a similar senior finance leadership role.
• Is comfortable working in complex and evolving environments.
• Can quickly build relationships and establish credibility with stakeholders.
• Enjoys solving problems and working through ambiguity.
• Has excellent financial management, budgeting, and reporting experience.
• Brings a practical, hands-on approach and is happy to support wherever needed.
• Experience in the forestry sector would be highly regarded but is not essential.

We are seeking an experienced finance professional to join our team during an exciting period of business integration and change on a full-time fixed term basis for 6 months. This role will be based in our Rotorua Office; however we are also open to a hybrid or remote arrangement.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager or Financial Controller to play a key role in supporting day-to-day financial operations while helping the business navigate the integration of systems and processes following a recent merger.

Working closely with senior finance leaders, you'll provide additional capacity across the finance function, ensuring critical business activities continue to run smoothly while key team members focus on strategic integration initiatives.
