Jora New Zealand is seeking a Finance Manager for our Manukau office on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term basis. This role is office-based and involves hands-on but strategic financial leadership across reporting, cashflow, GST/FBT, budgeting and system improvements.

The RoleYou will be responsible for preparing detailed monthly financial reports, cashflow reporting, prepare GST and FBT returns and work closely with the Finance and Operations Director to report on key performance areas of the business. You will play a key role in driving financial performance, while overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
This is a hands-on and strategic role, requiring the successful candidate to work closely with the factory and operational teams to understand manufacturing processes, costs and performance, while providing financial insight to support business decisions.
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have had some exposure to manufacturing and whilst not imperative, experience with Power BI would be an advantage. You will be technically proficient, have strong Excel skills, be able to work autonomously and have excellent organisational skills.
Your responsibilitiesFinancial Management and Reporting
Prepare accurate and timely monthly management reports.
Complete balance sheet reconciliations and support the integrity of the general ledger.
Prepare GST and FBT returns.
Assist with preparing annual budgets and maintaining rolling forecasts.
Prepare cashflow and working capital reports.
Develop clear and useful management reports.
Analyse financial results and explain key trends and variances.
Provide practical financial information to support business decisions.
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Oversee the day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
Provide guidance and support to the AP and AR team.
Monitor debtor and creditor balances.
Help maintain effective financial controls and processes.
Support the management of cashflow and working capital.
Business Improvement and Projects
Contribute to finance and wider business improvement projects.
Work with people across the business to support the successful delivery of projects.
Provide financial analysis and modelling for new initiatives.
Identify practical opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and systems.
Systems
Support the effective operation of the company’s ERP and financial systems.
Liaise with the ERP provider when required.
Help maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
Provide support and guidance to internal system users.
Assist with system improvements and user training.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a fast-paced environment
FMCG experience highly desirable
Excel skills (Intermediate to advanced)
Proven commercial acumen, analytical, conceptual, presentation and communication skills
A proactive self-starter
As the ideal candidate, you will bring your wealth of financial experience. This is a key role within our organisation for a candidate with 5+ years of commercial accounting experience with strong analytical skills. Ideally you will be CA qualified or working towards CA qualification.
Advanced computer literacy and business software knowledge of Office 365 programs including Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams
Strong technical knowledge, experience in management reporting, budgeting and cost analysis
Proactively develop financial models to guide business decisions
Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and influence key stakeholders
This is a 12-month fixed-term, full-time, fully office-based position in Manukau (parking provided). This role requires the successful candidate to work on-site, and remote or hybrid working arrangements are not available. Full working rights for NZ is essential.
