We’re partnering with an established Hawke’s Bay organisation who are seeking a Finance Business Partner to join its internal finance team on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract.
This role adds finance capability during significant organisational change and increased project demand. Acting as a trusted advisor across the organisation, the Finance Business Partner role will strengthen financial decision-making, deliver high-quality financial insights, and support the organisation through this period of change.
Day-to-day tasks of the role will include:
Finance & Business Partnering
- Advise senior leaders with financial insights that support priorities and long-term planning
- Partner with managers and project sponsors to understand needs and deliver practical financial solutions
- Develop models, business cases and scenario analysis to guide decisions
- Lead portfolio budgeting and forecasting, ensuring accuracy, alignment and prioritisation
- Build financial capability through coaching, mentoring and stakeholder support
Organisational Improvement & Transformation
- Support improvement initiatives, including an ERP implementation, service reviews and strategic projects
- Help business units strengthen evidence-based decision-making and performance culture
Business Process Improvement
- Influence cross-functional projects to modernise financial systems and processes
- Champion continuous improvement, including AI use to improve efficiency and data integrity
- Develop tools, workflows and standardised financial practices across departments
- Support training and engagement for successful system and process adoption
This opportunity could be for you if you have…
- A tertiary qualification in accounting or a related field
- At least five plus years’ relevant work experience in a Management Accounting, Commercial Analyst or Business Partnering role
- Significant experience providing business partnering support within a large, complex and/or changeable working environment
- Experience leading or contributing to organisational improvement, business transformation or change initiatives
- Strong understanding of financial management, strategic planning and financial modelling
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships at all organisational levels.
- Ability to influence decisions through clear analysis, practical advice and effective communication.
