Job summary

Assemble is seeking an experienced Finance Manager for a 3- to 6-month contract in Auckland to establish robust controls and reporting during a development phase.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting, while ensuring accuracy across the general ledger and transactional accounts. Immediate availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualification or accounting degree.
• Experience in property development or construction preferred.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and systems experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and deliver quickly in contract setting.
• Immediate or short-notice availability.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting and forecasting across the business.
• Review and clean up financial reports and processes for accuracy and consistency.
• Prepare monthly management reports for key stakeholders.
• Manage transactional accounts: AP/AR, bank reconciliations, GL accuracy.
• Support feasibility analysis for new development with cash flow modelling.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and controls.

Finance Manager - Contract

A great opportunity for an experienced finance professional to step into a 3-6 month contract Finance Manager role, providing strong financial acumen and hands-on support during the beginning of a commercial development. Joining a lean team, this role would play a key part in establishing controls and financial reporting systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting and forecasting, consolidating across the business as needed
• Review and clean up existing financial reports and processes, ensuring reporting is accurate, consistent, and fit for purpose going forward
• Preparing monthly management reports and presenting to key stakeholders
• Manage transactional accounts, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations and general ledger accuracy
• Support feasibility analysis for the new development working across cash flow and scenario modelling
• Identifying and implementing improvements to financial processes and controls

About You

• CA or CPA qualified, or relevant accounting degree
• Experience within a property development or construction project business preferred
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and systems experience
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work autonomously and deliver quickly in a contract setting
• Immediately or short notice availability period
