Job summary

Renti Limited in New Zealand is seeking a hands-on Head of Finance to lead a growing technology business. You will manage monthly reporting, FP&A, budgeting and cash flow, working closely with founders and a senior Finance Manager. Build financial models, translate data into insights and drive profitability initiatives.

You will mentor a small finance team and drive AI-enabled improvements to processes, reporting and controls while supporting strategic growth.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification, or equivalent professional accounting experience.
• Senior finance experience in roles such as Financial Controller, Head of Finance or Finance Director.
• Strong accounting, management reporting and FP&A experience.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities.
• Experience building, improving and independently managing financial reporting.
• Strong cash flow forecasting and financial management skills.
• Commercial acumen and understanding of complex revenue and pricing models.
• Experience leading a small finance team.
• Confidence working with founders and senior management.
• An AI-savvy mindset, with interest in leveraging AI to improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly management and board reporting process, including preparation, analysis and presentation.
• Continue developing financial reporting across SaaS, connections and payments businesses.
• Deliver meaningful variance analysis and insights into business performance.
• Develop reporting for Renti Rewards, including transaction volumes, payment margins, loyalty points and customer profitability.
• Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and cash flow management.
• Maintain short-term cash flow projections and longer-term financial forecasts.
• Monitor liquidity, identify financial risks and provide management with practical recommendations.
• Build and maintain product profitability and unit economics models.
• Evaluate pricing strategies, merchant agreements and commercial opportunities.
• Lead the finance function, supported by an experienced Finance Manager.
