Job summary

Emerge, a New Zealand fintech scale-up, is seeking a Head of Finance to lead the finance function end to end. Reporting to the Board, you will bring strategic insight and operational discipline to help scale the business.

This broad, hands-on role covers financial strategy, forecasting, reporting to the Board, runway management, and automation of systems to improve efficiency and governance. You will lead payroll, treasury, month-end close, audits and regulatory deadlines, with strong experience

Qualifications

• GAAP reporting and strong financial controls are essential.
• Experience collaborating with Boards, auditors and regulators.
• Significant fintech, payments, SaaS or banking sector experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial strategy alongside leadership, owning models, budgets, forecasts and analysis.
• Present financial performance and SaaS metrics to the Board with clarity.
• Drive runway management and capital efficiency through scenario planning.
• Translate financial data into clear, actionable insight for executives.
• Lead payroll, treasury, month-end close, audits and compliance deadlines.
• Evolve automation and systems that enhance the finance function.
• Advise on strategic hires and future finance team design.
