Job summary

Fliway Group in Auckland is seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner for Transport to support financial performance of Transport operations. You will partner with operations leaders, translate data into practical recommendations, and drive commercial outcomes.

You will contribute to budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis, develop business cases, and provide insights to improve profitability and efficiency while working closely with stakeholders across the business.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or related field.
• Experience as Finance Business Partner or commercial finance role.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, reporting and modelling skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Transport leaders to provide commercial and financial advice.
• Monitor Transport costs, margins and profitability.

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced and commercially focused Finance Business Partner - Transport to join our team and play a key role in supporting the financial performance of our Transport operations. This is a hands-on business partnering role where you will work closely with operational leaders to provide meaningful financial insights, support decision‑making, identify opportunities for improvement and drive strong commercial outcomes. You will bring a strong understanding of financial management, combined with the ability to translate financial information into practical recommendations that support the day-to-day and long-term success of the Transport business.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Transport leaders to provide commercial and financial advice.
• Monitor Transport financial performance, costs, margins and profitability.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, reporting and financial analysis.
• Analyse financial and operational KPIs and variances, providing actionable insights.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency and increase profitability.
• Develop financial models and business cases to support commercial and operational decisions.
• Provide financial support for pricing, tenders, projects and investments.
• Work closely with Operations to understand financial drivers and improve business performance.
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end reporting and financial results.
• Identify and manage financial risks and opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and act as a trusted financial partner.
• Continuously improve financial processes, reporting and systems.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by management.

What you Bring:

• Relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related field.
• Proven experience in a Finance Business Partner or commercial finance role.
• Strong commercial and analytical skills with a focus on business performance.
• Experience partnering with operational and senior leaders.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial modelling skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to turn financial data into clear, practical business insights.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail.
• Experience in transport or logistics is highly desirable.
