Job summary

Acclime seeks a Finance Business Partner to join our New Zealand team in Auckland. You will act as a strategic internal advisor, driving accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance across BUs, reporting to the Regional Financial Controller, ANZ.

You will lead budgets, forecasts, and rolling plans, support month-end close, intercompany reconciliation, and ensure adherence to NZ taxation and regulatory standards while influencing business decisions with financial insight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline.
• Membership in a recognized accounting body (CAANZ, CPA Australia, ACCA, ICAEW, or equivalent) desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a finance business partnering or financial reporting role.
• Experience in a professional services organization preferred.
• Proven experience preparing NZ IFRS-compliant consolidated financial statements.
• Experience coordinating multi-entity statutory audits with external auditors.
• Strong knowledge of NZ taxation requirements (GST, income tax, provisional tax, withholding tax).
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted financial advisor to BU leadership, enabling informed decisions and resource allocation to hit revenue, EBITDA, NPAT and cash flow targets.
• Support BU with financial reporting during month-end close, budgeting cycles, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with FBPs and Regional Finance to reconcile intercompany transactions.
• Ensure compliance with Acclime policies, regulatory standards, and internal controls.
• Lead annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and rolling forecasts, monitor key initiatives and financial impact.
• Enhance internal reporting processes within the BU.
• Manage multi-entity statutory audits to ensure timely completion and compliance.
• Oversee NZ tax compliance including GST, income tax, provisional tax, and withholding tax returns.
• Apply commercial insight to influence operational efficiency and profitability.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization, risk mitigation and performance improvement, with regular updates on outlooks.
• Promote consistency in financial practices across BUs with Regional and Group Finance.
• Execute ad-hoc tasks as required by Regional Financial Controller, ANZ or Regional Managing Director.

Role & Purpose

The Finance Business Partner (FBP) serves as a strategic internal advisor, reporting directly to Regional Financial Controller, ANZ. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust budgeting and strict compliance with finance policies. Additionally, the FBP provides critical financial guidance to the Service Line Leader, supporting strategic decision-making and financial management for the respective Acclime Business Unit (BU).

What will you be doing?

• Act as a trusted financial advisor to BU leadership, offering financial and strategic insights to support BU leadership decision making and resource allocation to achieve local BU revenue, EBITDA, NPAT and cashflow targets.
• Support the BU with financial reporting, particularly during month-end close, budgeting cycles, and process enhancements.
• Collaborate with fellow FBPs and Regional Finance to reconcile intercompany transactions.
• Ensure compliance with Acclime's financial policies, regulatory standards, and internal control frameworks.
• Lead the preparation of the BU's annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and rolling forecasts while monitoring key business initiatives and their financial impact.
• Enhance internal reporting processes and workflows within the BU.
• Manage and coordinate multi-entity statutory audits, ensuring timely completion and compliance with all statutory requirements.
• Manage statutory financial reporting requirements and ensure compliance with New Zealand financial reporting standards, including preparation and review of NZ IFRS-compliant consolidated financial statements.
• Oversee New Zealand tax compliance matters including GST, income tax, provisional tax and withholding tax returns and payments.
• Apply commercial insight to challenge and influence decisions that drive operational efficiency and profitability.
• Identify and report opportunities for cost optimization, risk mitigation and performance improvement while providing regular updates on financial outlooks.
• Promote consistency in financial practices across BUs through collaboration with Regional Finance and Group Finance.

What are we looking for?

• Demonstrated experience managing multi-entity statutory audits and coordinating with external auditors.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand taxation requirements, including GST, income tax, provisional tax and withholding tax compliance.
• Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence business decisions through financial analysis.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders effectively.
• Proficiency in financial systems such as Xero, Netsuite, Ms Dynamics or equivalent platforms.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong command of Microsoft Office tools.
• Fluent in English (written and verbal)
