Turn this role into an interview — a resume and cover letter built around what this employer wants.
APLY Limited is seeking a finance-focused professional to lead process design and system implementations in Auckland. You will build product P&Ls and budgets, forecast cash, and partner with Product, Engineering, and regional leadership to drive informed decisions.
With 3–6 years in finance and a strong grasp of AI-enabled automation, you will help shape margins, pricing, and churn analysis. The role offers flexibility in a modern SaaS environment and close collaboration with the CFO.
Jora New Zealand will close on 16th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.
Buying a house. Taking on a new client. Applying for finance. Behind every one of those moments sits a legal obligation on a business to prove it knows exactly who it is dealing with, and a customer who does not want to spend a week proving it.
APLYiD is an AML software business, with a mission to make AML so simple you will not even notice it is being done. We are a fast growing team of around 40 people, operating across New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom, with backing from Octopus Ventures and Tribe Global Ventures. We are scaling our operations, which means building the systems, processes and commercial rigour of a much larger company while keeping the speed of a small one.
We are looking for curiosity and the ability to question existing processes. Someone who would rather design and ship new processes than inherit and run existing processes.
Work alongside the CFO to design finance processes and implement the systems that run them.
Lead system implementations, including consolidating our billing onto a single platform.
Build automation in our data warehouse so reporting and billing run on rules rather than effort.
Put AI to work across the whole function and help decide where it is trusted and where a person still signs.
Document what you build, so it outlasts you.
Support the CFO with the monthly reporting pack for the board, the leadership team and our regions.
Run forecasting and cash modelling with the wider business to enhance their decision making.
Build product level P&Ls and department budgets alongside the leaders who own them.
Deliver margin, pricing and churn analysis in time to change what happens next.
Work directly with Product, Engineering, marketing and our Australian and UK general managers.
Have ever looked at a spreadsheet someone built years ago and wanted to replace the whole thing.
Get more satisfaction from removing a job than from doing it.
Want to see the whole business rather than one corner of it.
Already use AI daily and think most people are barely scratching what it can do.
Are comfortable when the answer is not written down anywhere yet.
Want a role that changes shape as you grow into it.
Strong grounding in finance and accounting to know what good looks like and design something that stands up. Around three to six years, and we will flex for the right person.
Commercial curiosity. You want to know why margin moved, not just that it did, and you will go and ask the person who can tell you.
Real interest in AI and automation as part of how you work, not as a novelty.
Clear communication, especially with people who do not work in finance.
A professional qualification such as CA, CPA or CFA. We care about what finishing one says about you rather than the letters themselves.
SaaS or subscription experience, and familiarity with ARR, usage based billing and churn.
SQL, Snowflake, Power BI or similar.
Been part of a system implementation or a process improvement project, from any angle.
FP&A, commercial finance or business partnering experience.
You will be in the room with both CEOs, our regional GMs, Product and Engineering. In a company this size you are not three layers away from the decision.
No two months look the same. One quarter is a systems implementation, the next a new reporting pack, then product P&Ls and pricing.
The role is not fixed. We have written down what we think it is, and if you are good you will reshape it. There is real room to grow and no queue in front of you.
You will report to the CFO, who will be directly involved in developing you across both sides of the role.
Take part in our employee share option purchase scheme, along with additional leave on top of the standard entitlement and regular company events throughout the year.
We have a new office in Grey Lynn, and we have built it to be somewhere people actually want to be. Snacks and drinks are stocked, the coffee machine is a good one, and there is a games space for when you need twenty minutes away from a problem. It is dog friendly, so expect company under the desk.
We are office first, and that is about energy rather than attendance. The best work here happens when people are in the same room: someone turns their screen around, three people lean in, and a problem that would have taken a week of messages is solved before lunch. We are flexible where life needs us to be, but if your best work happens alone at home, you probably will not enjoy it here.
Location: Auckland, our Grey Lynn office. Office first, with flexibility where needed.
