Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers is seeking a Commercial Finance Partner to deliver accurate financial analysis, robust forecasting, and insightful reporting. You will partner with key stakeholders to inform decision making and support business cases, including capital spend.

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to partner effectively across the business to provide accurate, timely and insightful analysis, financial and operational reporting, financial modelling, business case support and an effective budgeting and business planning process. To do this effectively you will perform the following tasks :

• Prepare financial models that provide financial forecasts and key financial metrics for new capital spend, and assist with business cases to support the approval process for this new capital spend.
• Understand the competitive position of the organisations portfolio and analyse alternative strategic options based on this.
• Business Partner with relevant stakeholders to provide monthly reporting and recommendations for performance improvement
• Operate the organisations forecasting tools and lead the development of the organisations monthly, annual, and 3 year plans.
• Provide effective financial reports and commentary the business.
• Drive continuous improvement for the commercial finance team by challenging and improving current processes and reporting where possible.

About You

To be suitable for this role you will have a firm understanding and experience in modelling and analysis of financial information to support commercial decision making. You will be approachable, and have the ability to communicate financial information to non-financial customers. Ideally, you will have experience communicating this through business cases and presentations. You will ideally also possess sound accounting knowledge, and either possess a CFA or CA qualification. Experience using PowerBi or another similar tool (Adaptive insights, TM1 etc) would be considered highly advantageous.

This experience may have been gained working in a commercial environment, or through working in a Big 4 or Second Tier firm in a Corporate Finance role, or in BAS / Audit, but you are pursuing your CFA qualification.
