About the role
Are you an experienced finance professional who enjoys taking ownership, improving systems and keeping the numbers running smoothly? Our client is looking for a capable Finance & Accounts Officer to manage key day-to-day finance activities and deliver accurate, timely information to support sound business decisions.
This varied, hands‑on role covers accounts payable, accounts receivable, cashflow forecasting, month-end reporting, NetSuite administration and annual budgeting. Payroll processing sits outside the position; however, you will post the monthly payroll journal and reconcile payroll control accounts as part of month end.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage supplier invoices, payment runs, statement reconciliations, employee expenses and company card transactions.
- Raise customer invoices and credit notes, allocate receipts, monitor aged debt and resolve billing queries.
- Administer NetSuite users, permissions, master data, saved searches, reports, dashboards and approval workflows.
- Maintain data integrity, support upgrades and integrations, identify automation opportunities, and help colleagues use the system effectively.
- Prepare rolling 13-week and 12-month cashflow forecasts, monitor bank balances and explain material variances.
- Complete month-end close within 5 working days, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, management accounts and variance analysis.
- Prepare and submit VAT / sales tax returns and assist with the year-end audit.
- Coordinate the annual budget process and support ongoing reforecasting.
About you
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a hands‑on finance role covering accounts payable, accounts receivable and month‑end close.
- Strong practical NetSuite knowledge, including administration, roles, saved searches and workflows.
- Experience preparing cashflow forecasts and management accounts.
- Advanced Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables and financial modelling.
- Sound knowledge of double‑entry bookkeeping, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
- Excellent accuracy, organisation and the ability to meet fixed deadlines.
- Clear communication skills and confidence working with non‑finance colleagues, customers and suppliers.
- A finance qualification, NetSuite Administrator certification, budgeting experience, multi‑entity or multicurrency exposure, or audit support experience would be an advantage.
