Job summary

Adaptalift Group’s East Tamaki team in Auckland, New Zealand, is seeking a skilled Forklift / Service Technician for an in-field role with a van provided. The position is permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday, covering field and workshop work, servicing and repairing forklifts and related equipment.

You’ll perform scheduled servicing, breakdowns, and pre-delivery inspections, log jobs via tablet, communicate with customers, maintain van stock and tools, and join a rotating on-call roster.

Qualifications

• Mechanical trade qualification with experience in forklifts, heavy vehicles, or related equipment.
• Strong diagnostics and servicing skills in hydraulics, electrics, or mechanical systems.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• A current NZ driver’s licence is required.
• Willingness to join a rotating on-call roster.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled servicing, breakdowns, and pre-delivery inspections on forklifts and equipment.
• Log, complete, and close jobs using the tablet-based system with accurate records.
• Communicate clearly with customers, explaining work done and identifying any additional repair needs.
• Maintain van stock, tools, and cleanliness, while planning daily activities for efficiency.
