Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking a Field Service Forklift Technician – Diesel & Auto Electrical for a full-time, permanent role based on-site in Hawke's Bay. You will service, diagnose, maintain and repair customer-owned forklifts and rental fleet, using diagnostic tools and performing tests to ensure safety and compliance.

Candidates with trade certificate or 5+ years experience, strong diagnostic skills in mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems, and ability to work independently in the field

Qualifications

• Trade certificate in automotive engineering or 5+ years relevant industry experience.
• Proven diagnostic skill in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently in the field.
• Accurate paperwork and job documentation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical faults, and drive systems.
• Perform scheduled servicing, inspections, overhauls, and breakdown repairs.
• Remove, dismantle, and reassemble major components.
• Use computer diagnostic tools to identify faults.
• Conduct test drives, QC checks, and compliance checks.
• Attend customer sites for repairs and servicing.
• Maintain accurate job sheets, part usage, and timesheets.
• Ensure work is completed safely and meets compliance standards.
• Communicate findings with customers clearly.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace.
