Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking a technically strong Field Technician who enjoys hands-on work, diagnosing faults and delivering practical solutions. You’ll troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and mechanical issues, support installations and commissioning, and provide remote and on-site technical guidance.

The role emphasises customer interactions, diagnosing complex faults, and collaborating with service partners to ensure projects are delivered correctly.

Qualifications

• You could come from electrical, electronics, industrial automation, controls, instrumentation or a similar technical field.
• Experience with dairy or milking systems would be useful, but your fault-finding and problem-solving ability is what will set you apart.
• Strong electrical understanding and the ability to learn new technology quickly.
• Comfortable dealing directly with customers and explaining technical issues in plain language.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, electronic and technical faults
• Provide hands-on technical support to customers and service partners
• Support installation, commissioning and technical sign-off of equipment
• Investigate recurring faults and identify practical, long-term solutions
• Provide technical advice and training to customers and technicians
• Work alongside internal technical and product teams to improve equipment and systems
• Travel nationally and internationally as part of projects and installations
