Job summary

The New Zealand Institute for Public Health and Forensic Science Ltd is seeking a Fixed Term Facilities Coordinator for 6 months to oversee day-to-day facilities operations at Kenepuru Science Centre in Porirua. On-site, you will handle visitor reception, deliveries, and general building management tasks.

You will coordinate contractors, ensure site cleanliness and safety, support emergency procedures, and help maintain a well-presented, safe workplace while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Availability to be on site Monday–Friday at Kenepuru Science Centre
• Previous successful experience in facilities or related roles
• Strong customer-focused approach and effective communication skills
• Excellent organisational and co-ordination skills, ability to multi-task
• Ability to work independently and show initiative

Responsibilities

• Visitor management and phone reception
• Managing inwards/outwards deliveries and mail
• Day-to-day building operations including repairs, maintenance, security/access control
• Induction and coordination of contractors and tradespersons
• Maintain site presentation, health and safety risks, and meeting room setups
• Support the Facilities Manager with emergency evacuation procedures
