Job summary

The New Zealand Institute for Public Health and Forensic Science Ltd is seeking a Fixed Term Facilities Coordinator for 6 months to oversee day-to-day facilities operations at Kenepuru Science Centre in Porirua. On-site, you will handle visitor reception, deliveries, and general building management tasks.

You will coordinate contractors, ensure site cleanliness and safety, support emergency procedures, and help maintain a well-presented, safe workplace while delivering excellent customer service.

Facilities Coordinator- KSC 6-month Fixed Term Opportunity Te tūnga

The role

We are looking for a Fixed Term Facilities Coordinator for 6 months to provide efficient and effective coordination of the day-to-day facilities' operational activities at Kenepuru Science Centre in Porirua.

In this role you will be involved in:

• Visitor management and Phone reception
• Managing inwards/outwards deliveries and mail
• A range of day-to-day building operations such as repairs, maintenance, security/access control and building management system, parking and traffic control
• Induction and coordination of contractors and tradespersons
• Keeping the site well presented, managing health and safety risks and coordinating activities such as site waste disposal, grounds maintenance, setting up and re-set of meeting rooms
• Supporting the Facilities Manager with emergency evacuation procedures

About you

• Availability to be on site at our Kenepuru Science Centre site Monday- Friday
• Previous successful experience in facilities or related roles
• A strong customer-focused approach, coupled with effective communication skills
• Excellent organisational and co-ordination skills, prioritise and multi-task with ease
• The ability to work independently and show initiative
