Job summary

University of Otago – Christchurch campus is seeking a Facilities Coordinator to join the Property and Campus Development team. You will coordinate a building portfolio including modern laboratory and research facilities, reporting to the Facility Manager.

This is a full-time, 2-year fixed-term role based in Christchurch (37.5 hours). The appointment range is $69,931 to $74,609, with top end $80,285 per annum.

Qualifications

• Relevant vocational, facilities management, building services qualification, or experience in property operations, project, construction or facilities management with a strong client focus.
• Experience operating and maintaining commercial, teaching or research buildings.
• Clear understanding of the Building Act and the Health and Safety Act.
• Knowledge of as-builts, floor plans and operating and maintenance manuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide a key Property Operations contact for University staff and students.
• Proactively partner with your portfolio to understand current and future requirements.
• Anticipate and respond to the needs of diverse facilities and operations.
• Ensure daily work requests are triaged, scoped and completed within service timeframes.
• Coordinate planned and corrective maintenance to keep buildings at optimum levels.
• Ensure works meet the University’s quality and design standards.
