Job summary

Nurse Maude is seeking experienced support workers for Homecare and Rehab teams across Canterbury. You will work autonomously with a range of community clients, delivering personal care, domestic help and specialised tasks while travelling between visits in your own car.

Applicants should hold NZQA Health & Wellbeing Level 3 (Level 4 preferred), be licensed drivers with reliable transport, and be available for weekend rosters. Training on Nurse Maude competencies is provided.

Qualifications

• NZQA Level 3 or higher in Health and Wellbeing.
• Prefer previous homecare or health services experience.
• Hold NZ driver's licence and own reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and domestic assistance to clients.
• Learn and apply Nurse Maude competencies including hoisting, meds oversight, hosiery, ostomy and catheter care.
• Liaise with care colleagues about client wellbeing and care plans.
• Travel between visits using your own vehicle.

Te Mahi/About the Position

• Working autonomously with a wide range of clients in the community
• Must be confident or capable of learning all Nurse Maude competencies associated with Support Worker role including, but not limited to: Personal Care, Domestic assistance, hoisting, medication oversight, Compression hosiery, Ostomy and Catheter cares.
• Liaising with colleagues regarding client care and wellbeing
• Using your personal vehicle to drive between scheduled visits.

Hours of work:

• We are seeking permanent part-time employees with min qualification of level 3 Health and wellbeing (NZQA).
• Successful permanent part-time applicants will be offered guaranteed hours within a rolling base roster that will include morning, evening and weekend shifts.
• A commitment to being available to work rostered weekend days is required.

• Be professional, honest and reliable, and friendly in your approach.
• Be able to quickly form safe, therapeutic relationships with clients you care for while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Be effective and professional in your communication.
• Be able to complete all physical aspects of role.
• Hold a full New Zealand drivers' licence and have your own reliable transport.
• Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand
• NZQA Certificate - Level 3 or Level 4 - in Health and Wellbeing qualification, and previous experience in the industry would be preferred.
• Have received at least two covid19 Vaccinations and be able to provide evidence of your vaccination record.
