Job summary

Heli Weddings NZ is seeking a warm, people‑focused person to join our small team in Queenstown. This role blends tourism, hospitality, guiding, client experience and photography to create unforgettable moments for couples from around the world.

No two days are the same; you’ll guide couples, photograph weddings and elopements, edit images and help with planning and logistics while enjoying mentoring to develop your skills as a photographer.

Join Our Luxury Wedding & Elopement Team

Do you love working with people, enjoy being outdoors, and have a creative side? Heli Weddings NZ is looking for a warm, enthusiastic and adaptable person to join our small team and help create unforgettable wedding and elopement experiences for couples from around the world.

This is a unique opportunity combining tourism, hospitality, guiding, client experience, photography and creativity. You'll work in some of New Zealand's most spectacular locations while receiving hands‑on mentoring and training to develop your skills in professional wedding and elopement photography.

Photography experience is a bonus, but it is not essential. We're looking for the right person - someone who genuinely enjoys people, stays calm when plans change, is a great problem solver and is excited to learn.

About the Role

No two days are the same. Some days you'll be working with couples on special weddings and elopements, helping guide, photograph and look after them throughout their experience. Other days you'll be editing images, preparing equipment or working from our Queenstown home office.

Your role will include:

• Guiding and looking after couples throughout their wedding or elopement experience
• Creating a warm, relaxed and exceptional client experience
• Assisting with wedding and elopement planning and logistics
• Photographing weddings, elopements and adventure experiences
• Assisting with photography while developing your skills through mentoring
• Editing and processing professional image galleries
• Downloading, organising and backing up image files
• Preparing and managing photography equipment
• Liaising with helicopter operators, suppliers and tourism partners
• Problem solving and adapting to changing weather, schedules and client needs
• Assisting with creative content for social media and marketing
• Working from our Queenstown home office on some days for editing, planning, administration and preparation

About You - We're looking for someone who is:

• Experience in tourism, hospitality, guiding, customer service or another people-focused role
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• A current full driver's licence, or the ability to obtain one
• Legal right to work in New Zealand

Desirable but Not Essential

• Photography experience
• Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop knowledge
• Wedding or events industry experience
• Guiding or outdoor tourism experience
• Social media or content creation experience
• Experience in luxury tourism or hospitality
• AI image knowledge

This is a permanent role with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week.

Hours will generally be worked Monday to Friday during daytime hours, with a combination of:

• Office-based work from our Queenstown home office
• Photography editing and image management
• Wedding and elopement preparation
• On-location photography and client experiences

Because of the nature of weddings and elopements, there may occasionally be longer days or weekend work when required for confirmed bookings. We will provide as much notice as possible.
