Aon Corporation in Auckland is seeking an Executive Director for Corporate Broking. You will own and grow a portfolio of major corporate clients, delivering strategic risk advice and best-in-class service.

Based in our Auckland CBD head office, you will be responsible for managing the risk and insurance needs for some of New Zealand’s largest companies.

About the Role

As an Executive Director, you will lead a portfolio of key client relationships, driving retention, growth, and service excellence. Working closely with clients, insurers, and Aon colleagues, you will provide strategic risk advice, develop tailored solutions, and find opportunities to expand and enhance client value.

Combining deep technical expertise with strong commercial leadership, you will help shape business strategy, mentor team members, and contribute to the continued success of our clients and organisation.

About the Role

As an Executive Director, you'll own and grow a portfolio of corporate clients, delivering strategic advice and outstanding service. You'll strengthen client partnerships, drive portfolio growth, and proactively identify and convert new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate client renewals, including premium calculations and policy reviews.
  • Provide professional, accurate and effective response to client needs through liaison with clients and underwriters
  • Identify opportunities for growth within existing client relationships and new business prospects, showcasing Aon’s value to clients.
  • Provide support and mentorship to colleagues, sharing your expertise and helping to develop the next generation of broking talent.
What We’re Looking For

A natural relationship builder, someone who earns trust and respect through clear communication and genuine care with the ability to effectively engage with and present to stakeholders up to C-suite and Board level. Your background in insurance, specifically managing a large and complex clients, means you understand the complexities of the field and can confidently navigate client needs.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
  • A proven risk and insurance background.
  • A New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) – General Insurance (or working towards it).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to negotiate and present effectively.
  • A strategic mindset, able to see the bigger picture and offer comprehensive solutions to clients.
