University of Otago seeks an Events Supervisor to lead a university hospitality operation. You will report to the Hospitality Manager, University of Otago Union, and oversee a diverse events program across campus.

The role requires hands-on leadership, staff training, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service while embedding Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and Māori and Pacific frameworks.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in food and beverage environments.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to prioritise tasks under competing demands and timeframes.
• Knowledge of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
• Knowledge of Food Control Plan requirements.

Responsabilités

• Lead the events operation across the university with a hands-on approach.
• Plan regular and varied events to meet client needs.
• Train and develop staff to uphold service standards.
• Ensure Hospitality Services consistently exceed client expectations.
• Build and sustain a high-performing hospitality team.
• Apply Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and align with Māori and Pacific frameworks.
