Job summary

The University of Canterbury is seeking an experienced operations leader to turn Takurua's plans into safe, efficient and reliable day-to-day operations. From customer service and facility readiness to technology, bookings and performance information, you will create the operational foundation behind an outstanding user experience.

Reporting to the Takurua Centre Director, you will lead the operational systems, customer experience and facility services that enable Takurua to perform at its best.

Qualifications

• Operational leadership experience within a busy facility or service environment.
• Experience managing contractors and service-provider relationships.
• Ability to develop systems, procedures and measurable service standards.
• Experience leading customer-focused teams and building capability.
• Inclusive and culturally responsive leadership approach.
• Confidence using operational data and technology to improve performance.
• Sound judgement across safety, risk, resources and competing priorities.
• A relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent recognised qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational systems, customer experience and facility services for Takurua.
• Balance continuity with rollout of new systems and standards.
• Oversee bookings, readiness, maintenance coordination.
• Coordinate with UC Facilities, digital teams and contractors.
• Ensure health and safety, risk and emergency practices.
