You will develop and implement EMS, monitor compliance, and guide site teams in best practices while engaging with regulators and local communities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related.
• 8+ years in environmental management, mining exposure.
• In-depth knowledge of environmental legislation (e.g., NEMA, MPRDA).
• Experience with EIAs, auditing, and reporting.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
• Ability to conduct site visits and engage with diverse stakeholders.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing environmental management plans, ensuring compliance, and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility across all site activities. This role is critical for maintaining our client's license to operate and ensuring responsible resource extraction.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive environmental management systems (EMS).
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and local environmental laws, regulations, and permit conditions.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for new projects and operational changes.
• Oversee environmental monitoring programs, including water quality, air emissions, and biodiversity.
• Manage waste management, rehabilitation, and closure planning activities.
