Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Environmental Engineer to join our Queenstown team. You will focus on ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and managing permitting for development and industrial projects.

You will conduct EIAs and EMPs, oversee monitoring programs, and provide guidance on best practices while liaising with regulators and project teams. The ideal candidate has 5+ years’ experience, a BEng or BSc in Environmental Engineering, and strong analytical and reporting

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Environmental Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental consulting or compliance.
• Thorough knowledge of South African environmental legislation and permitting processes.
• Experience with environmental modeling and impact assessment techniques.
• Strong report writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a project environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Environmental Management Plans (EMPs).
• Manage the application and acquisition of environmental permits and licenses.
• Ensure projects comply with national and local environmental legislation.
• Develop and implement environmental monitoring programs.
• Provide technical guidance on environmental best practices and pollution control measures.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and project teams on environmental matters.
