Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Chemical Engineer in Queenstown to uphold safety and environmental compliance across chemical processes. The role centers on audits, risk assessments, and implementing procedures that ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.

You will collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate safety into process design and daily operations, ensuring regulatory adherence and operational integrity in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles and regulations.
• Experience with HAZOP, LOPA, and other risk assessment methodologies.
• Strong environmental regulatory understanding.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage safety programs for chemical operations.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments of plant facilities and processes.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents; determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with local and international safety and environmental regulations.
• Provide safety training to employees and contractors on site.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to embed safety into process design and modifications.
