Job summary

One NZ is seeking a Network Operations Engineer to keep enterprise and government networks connected, available, and high-performing. You will troubleshoot a broad range of networking technologies across Cisco, Fortinet, Meraki, Arista, and cloud services, and participate in a rotating on-call roster.

You will work in a dynamic, 24x7 environment, collaborating with customers to drive improvements and deliver reliable network services across diverse environments.

Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining and operating network environments.
  • Familiarity with Cisco, Fortinet, Arista, Meraki, and cloud services AWS/Azure.
  • Ideally CCNA/CCNP or equivalent certifications.
  • Security clearance requirement: NZ permanent resident or citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain and troubleshoot routing, switching, wireless and SD-WAN environments.
  • Monitor network health and diagnose issues, implementing remedial actions.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call roster as required.
  • Drive service improvements with technical understanding of customer networks.

As a Network Operations Engineer, you’ll play a key role in keeping our Enterprise & Government customers connected by ensuring their network environments are available, stable and performing at their best.

You’ll use your technical expertise across a broad range of networking technologies to troubleshoot issues, implement changes and support continuous service improvement within a 24x7 operational environment. Working across multi-vendor solutions including Cisco, Fortinet, Meraki, Aruba and Arista, you’ll help deliver reliable, high-quality network services for customers with diverse and complex environments.

Please note this role will require you to be on a rotating on-call roster, on average requiring you to be on-call one week out of every other months.

  • Configure, maintain and troubleshoot routing, switching, wireless and SD-WAN environments.
  • Monitoring network health, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, and implementing appropriate remedial actions.
  • Participating in 24x7 callout roster as required on a regular basis.
  • Help our customers by driving service improvements with your technical understanding of their networks and services.
  • Prepare and deploy operational changes to customers networks following industry best standards
Na tōu rourou - what you’ll bring
  • You have strong communication skills and enjoy being a partner to your customers.
  • Experience in maintaining and operating network environments.
  • Familiarity with the following products: Cisco, Fortinet, Arista, Meraki, Cloud based services AWS/Azure.
  • Ideally networking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP or equivalent.

Demonstrated experience in the following areas:

  • Networking – routers, switches, firewalls, wireless and SD-WAN
  • Participating in infrastructure and customer projects
  • Request fulfilment and troubleshooting

Due to security clearance requirements, you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residents or Citizenship to be considered for this role.
