Job summary

Wintec in Hamilton invites applications for the role of Centre for Engineering Academic Staff Member. You will bring industry experience to teach across Level 6 NZ Diploma in Engineering and Level 7 Bachelor of Engineering Technology, designing courses and connecting students with real-world practice.

Centre for Engineering Academic Staff Member
Bring your industry expertise into the classroom and help shape the next generation of Engineers.

Join Wintec’s Trades and Engineering team and use your practical Engineering experience to inspire and prepare students for successful careers. You’ll teach across our Level 6 New Zealand Diploma in Engineering and Level 7 Bachelor of Engineering Technology, bringing real‑world knowledge and industry connections into the learning experience.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead the design and delivery of Core Engineering courses.
  • Develop engaging teaching resources and assessments.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for an experienced Engineer with:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering.
  • Current industry experience and strong technical capability.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A passion for sharing your knowledge and supporting the next generation of engineers.

You don’t need to have teaching experience to be successful in this role. If you have strong industry knowledge, a passion for your profession and an interest in developing others, we’d love to hear from you.

Salary: $77,500 – $96,800, depending on skills and experience.
