Job summary

eShepherd, in partnership with Gallagher, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and improve hardware for our livestock management technology. You’ll work across the full product lifecycle, from concept through production and field support, collaborating with electronics, firmware, product and manufacturing teams to deliver practical, reliable solutions.

You’ll translate field insights into meaningful design improvements, support DFMEA activities and drive continuous improvement across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years in product development or R&D environment.
• Strong knowledge of injection moulded plastics and material selection.
• Experience designing functional mechanisms.
• Creo CAD proficiency.
• Experience with GD&T, design reviews, DFM and DFMEA.
• Strong root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills.
• Clear communication of technical concepts to stakeholders.
• Continuous improvement mindset and progress over perfection.

Responsibilities

• Design robust, cost-effective mechanical solutions for new products and enhancements.
• Support projects from concept development through testing, production and field deployment.
• Participate in design reviews, DFMEA activities and DFMs.
• Identify technical issues early and drive practical engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with electronics, firmware, manufacturing and product teams.
• Investigate field performance, reliability issues and warranty concerns.
• Work with customer-facing teams to understand real-world product performance.
• Translate field insights into meaningful design improvements.
• Support continuous improvement across products, processes and technologies.
