Job summary

The New Zealand Government is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine professional to join our team at Nelson Hospital. You will play a key role in providing emergency care to a diverse patient population and participate in a structured roster, including nights and weekends.

The ideal candidate will hold a FACEM or equivalent qualification and have significant Emergency Medicine experience. You will also contribute to training and development within our service, ensuring high-quality care across the region.

Qualifications

• Hold FACEM or an equivalent qualification.
• Have postgraduate fellowship training (preferred).
• Be eligible for an Annual Practising Certificate with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
• Have Emergency Medicine experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care to patients.
• Participate in rostered shift work including weekends and nights.
• Supervise registrars, house officers, and medical students.
• Contribute to the development of the service.
